news is data about something collected by someone and presented in some form or story as new information

fakenews is data about something collected by someone and presented in some form or story as new information

so far the same

there are also differences:

true news is about good data about a real something presented in such a way as to do justice to the real something

fakenews is about wrong data about a real or unreal something presented in such a way as to do unjustice to a real something

the problem being: what are good data and what are wrong data, when is something real or unreal, when is justice or unjustice done and who is to decide on that?

most people have different answers to these questions

that's ok because of two fundamental rights:

the freedom of expression
the freedom of opinion and belief
